Diagnosis

diagnosisI just finished updating the “Diagnosis” page under our “Topics” section.

Of course, there is much more to be said on this subject, but I hope what I was able to convey was a useful overview of the distinction between unipolar and bipolar depression.

I would love to get feedback from you. This topic is one that is especially difficult to write about, since it is hard to know when what I am writing is understandable to someone without mental health training.

The goal of this page, as of the website as a whole, is to try to talk about moods in a way that does not overly pathologize these states of mind, or the people who experience them.

That is a very tricky thing to do when you are writing about psychiatric diagnosis.

Please send me your thoughts. Either as comments attached to this post, or to the page itself, or as an email to peter@moodsurfing.com.
