I am very happy to welcome a new writer to the blog. Her name is Lyndsey, and I will be posting her first entry in a couple of hours.
I think that you will find that she adds a unique perspective on what it takes to “live creatively with moods.”
Here is what she wrote as an introduction –
My name is Lyndsey and I was diagnosed as bipolar ten years ago after a psychotic episode and hospitalization. After my diagnosis in 2004, I worked with Dr. Forster for five intensive years learning how to function in the ‘real’ world with a ‘special’ brain.
While managing my disorder will always be important for maintaining a happy existence, I’m pleased to report that after the initial learning curve, my condition is now pretty much on auto-drive and no longer a big deal.
I have traveled extensively, worked regularly and have been able to maintain satisfying relationships. In fact, I now see my disorder as the very reason I have such an interesting, fulfilling life.
Currently, I am a freelance writer living in southern California.
